Little on the high side price wise but very well kept , friendly , helpful, and gated in. Makes it feel very safe . Rooms have everything you need and are well maintained. Probably stay again If I’m ever here again

Staying at the Bywater Suite Hotel was such a unique and memorable experience! The property, once the historic Holy Angels Convent, has been beautifully repurposed into a beautiful hotel that’s full of character and charm. The architecture alone is worth the visit.
Our suite was incredibly spacious and thoughtfully designed, with plenty of room to stretch out and relax. One of the highlights of our stay was the serene pool area — a true oasis in the heart of the Bywater. It felt like a peaceful retreat yet still just a short walk or ride to all the excitement of the French Quarter.
Huge kudos to Rachel Van Voorhees for taking such amazing care of us during our stay! Her warmth, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality made the experience all the more special. You can really feel the love and care that’s been put into making this place a true home away from home.
Highly recommend for anyone wanting a New Orleans stay that’s full of history, beauty, and comfort.

Calling all Academy of the Holy Angels graduates! We have found a gem in New Orleans. My sisters (Academy of the Holy Angels graduates, as well. 1979, 1980, and 1987), my mother, niece, and bonus mom all stayed at the hotel from June 3rd-5th, 2025. It was awesome to be on the campus. It is safe and secure with several restaurants in the area. All of the rooms are suites, are reasonably priced, fairly new, clean, and smells. The
"old" cafeteria is soon to be a restaurant run by nice man named Tony. He showed us the chapel that will be developed into an event center. The stained glass windows were beautiful. It will be a magical place. Had a most wonderful time making awesome memories and and remembering being on the campus for four years of high school. We plan to be making more more visits to this awesome place!

My family and I recently visited and will definitely be choosing this place for our future stays in New Orleans. The location is wonderful. The area is safe. Hotel staff is super friendly and the place is very updated and clean. We have 4 small children. After putting some belongings in our room's safe we were locked out of it due to our kids playing with the code on the safe. We notified Mrs. Rachel when we left and she had our items mailed back to us. That alone is amazing hospitality. I highly recommend staying here. Already looking forward to our next visit!

My family got the opportunity to get a sneak peek with a small Jazz Fest staycation. My girls thoroughly enjoyed the space and of course the pool. The owners are sweet and were very accommodating. This is the perfect place if you’re traveling into the city. It sits on the edge of the French Quarter; so it gives it more of a family vibe. You won’t be bombarded by traffic. It has easy access up St Claude or to the interstate. Word on the street is that they are partnering with a great local restaurant. So no need for Uber Eats when you can have all the amenities in one space. And I hear the pool will be open to locals during the summer for a small fee. You can have all the feels inside of this great historic renovation once owned by the sweet nuns who still live on the property.

Excellent new hotel rebuilt from a previous school in New Orleans. Family owned and operated.
Pros:

- Quiet.
- Amazing pool area & large hot tub.
- Secured with gate
- Excellent bathrooms
- Quality ice provided on main floor.
- elevator is fast.
Cons:
- parking is extra & kinda challenging to get taken care of once you’re there.
- Amenities are … ok
- dishes weren’t clean, pots had mold.
- Desk service is limited, few employees. But they are VERY helpful!
- toilet paper is the worst haha

Great stay, very clean and easy to access. Close to everything. I’m not sure why the reviews are poor with access isssues. Just remember your code and be thankful for the security tot the property.
